You can’t always bring a gamepad everywhere, so Rainway’s on-screen gamepad is useful in a pinch. It’s great for strategic or relaxed games, but if you want to play a first-person shooter, bring a controller with you on the go.
Rainway emulates an Xbox 360 controller when using a controller on the client or virtual gamepad. If the game you’re streaming doesn’t have support for Xbox 360 (xinput) controllers, the client’s controller won’t work. An alternative for using a controller on any game is to use a program called JoyToKey. It emulates your controller as keyboard inputs, so you can use a controller on every game you own.
Each game will stream differently depending on your hardware and internet speeds, but if your PC can run the game and your stream settings are set to the connection you’re on, you will get a smooth stream.
Try turning down the stream quality, resolution, and frame rate under Settings > Stream. Playing through a wired or 5Ghz wifi or 4G LTE connection will help minimize lag. 2.4 Ghz and 3G might add to the latency and cause lag.
Swipe from the left side of the screen to the right. Select “on-screen gamepad” under control method.
